The WorkCentre 490cx Colour Inkjet All-in-One features stand-alone faxing and colour copying. When connected to a PC, the WorkCentre 490cx prints at 10 pages-per-minute (ppm) black and 5ppm colour and offers PC Fax capabilities. The WorkCentre 490cx prints photo-quality colour images and crisp text using a standard cartridge, at 1200 x 1200 dots-per-inch (dpi) print resolution and colour scans at 300 x 600 dpi optical resolution.
The WorkCentre 390 Laser All-in-One is 60 percent faster than Hewlett-Packard for both printing and copying with speeds up to 10 ppm/10 copies-per-minute (cpm) and offers exceptional text and image reproduction at true 600 x 600 dpi. In addition to providing fax, copy and PC Fax capabilities, the WorkCentre 390 adds the versatility of a 300 x 600 dpi colour scanner, allowing users to import colour images to their desktops.
Both products feature "Scan-to-E-mail," which allows users to scan colour photos, images and documents and easily send them to colleagues and friends via e-mail, as well as award-winning Pagis PRO 2.0 and TextBridge PRO '98 scanning software packages.
The WorkCentre 490cx and WorkCentre 390 offer USB and IEEE 1284 parallel connectivity and operate in Windows NT 4.0, Windows 95, and 98 environments. The WorkCentre 390 will be Windows 2000 compatible at launch, while Windows 2000 drivers for the WorkCentre 490cx will be available shortly after launch at www.xerox.com.
The WorkCentre 390 and 490cx are now available through major retailers, e-tailers, catalogists, and resellers throughout Europe.

Amstelveen, 21 november 2000 -- Xerox Europe heeft twee nieuwe alles-in-één-apparaten geïntroduceerd voor de Small Office/Home Office (SoHo)-markt. De prijzen liggen lager, de mogelijkheden zijn toegenomen en de snelheid is zoveel verhoogd dat ze tot 60% sneller zijn dan concurrerende producten. Standaard scannen zowel de zwartwit- als de kleurenuitvoering in kleur en beide kunnen direct naar e-mail scannen. Deze nieuwe multifunctionele apparaten bieden de gebruiker een professionele combinatie van hard- en software en maken de serie alles-in-één-apparaten van Xerox compleet.
Xerox begrijpt de wereld van documentvervaardiging als geen ander en heeft altijd naar klanten geluisterd, om de manier waarop mensen met elkaar werken en communiceren te verbeteren. Op verzoek van klanten heeft Xerox dan ook als eerste in de markt kleurenscan-mogelijkheden op de nieuwe zwartwit-WorkCentre 390 ingebouwd.
Uitvoeringen
De WorkCentre 490cx Colour Inkjet All-in-One kan stand alone als fax en als kleurencopier dienen. Aangesloten op een pc is het een printer met een snelheid van 10 ppm zwartwit en 5 ppm in kleur. Verder biedt deze machine pc-fax-mogelijkheden. De WorkCentre 490cx produceert met standaard cartridges kleurenprints van foto-kwaliteit en scherp-gestoken tekst op 1200 dpi. De kleurenscan-resolutie bedraagt optisch 300 x 600 dpi.
De WorkCentre 390 Laser All-in-One print en kopieert met een snelheid van 10 ppm in zwartwit. Dat is 60 procent sneller dan directe concurrenten. De afdrukkwaliteit is uitstekend door de resolutie van 600 dpi. Buiten de fax-, copier- en pc-fax-mogelijkheden dient de WorkCentre 390 als 300 x 600 dpi-kleurenscanner om kleurenillustraties op de pc te kunnen verwerken. Dit maakt deze machine in veel meer situaties inzetbaar.
Beide uitvoeringen hebben een Scan-to-E-mail-optie, om kleurenfoto's en andere documenten makkelijk in te scannen en per e-mail te verzenden. Pagis PRO 2.0 en TextBridge PRO '98 worden als software meegeleverd. Ze zijn voorzien van een USB- en een parallelle aansluiting en ze werken onder Windows NT 4.0, Windows 95 en Windows 98.
